I'm hopeless, but I think

and tried to put her on such a cuppa filled with whatever hot beverage you like

That's the result:

Of course it's all magic that Hedwig doesn't knock the mug over. ;p
Well, yes, I tried.
*dies laughing*

Date: 2016-08-26 11:29 am (UTC)I wonder, did you ever have to treat an actual owl? I petted one last year at the Medieval day and they're so soft it's ridiculous! :)

Date: 2016-08-26 11:45 am (UTC)Thank you, darling! You're too kind. I agree though that owl is a wonderful model.
The challenge is upon until tomorrow, but the time zone is EST, so it's 5 hours longer to participate from Europe (one can cheat, right:))
No, I've never treated an owl. I assisted with the treatment of an injured merlin (the smallest falcons around here) once at university. It had strangled itself with his leg and was brought back to health, but that wasn't my doing. I just held him. And yes, they are as soft as owls probably are. :D

Date: 2016-08-26 12:17 pm (UTC)Anyway, I think you should try a thing yourself. As it is explicitly for us non-artists. It's the opportunity, angel. :D
You're right. Hedwig's so above knocking mugs over. LOL

Date: 2016-08-26 05:51 pm (UTC)Well, understatement is for the better when it comes to my art. It took three tries to get the mug right before it even looked like one. And the owl picture helped. I could focus on her shading instead of the form. :D
It was nearly 40 degrees C (104F) over here today so I feel accomplished that I did get something done. LOL

Date: 2016-08-26 07:24 pm (UTC)Aww, your Hedwig is the cutest! I want to scratch her behind her invisible owl ears! (Beside her fluffiness distracting her to snatch that yummy coffee might also be a good motivation. ;-) ) Great job, sweetheart. No better model than a snow owl when it's almost 40°C!
