SED 21 - Happy Days

Congrats Ireland and well done! I saw all the posts about people heading home. And they did it; a majority voted (1,201,607 versus 734,300) for equal marriage rights for everyone. It's even more impressive when you take into account that Roman Catholic is the religion of over 84% (due to the census 2011).
I know there is still a long way to go, but it's a fantastic signal and another step into the right direction!


Yesterday Mr Kantorka and I celebrated our 6th wedding annivesary and we met for a lovely lunch and just enjoyed each others company.

One of my favourite Sherlock authors posted the last chapter of her current fic (it's 327k long and I'm 17% in and already so in love with those two - The Gilded Cage by BeautifulFiction).

Mr Kantorka and I are currently listening to The 60th Eurovision Song Contest and we are already cackling like lunatics. God, it's always ridiculously funny- especially with the life feed from twitter. My favourite so far - Estonia (after 7 songs out of 27, but that can change any minute).
ETA: Oh, in case you think I'm terribly rude here - it's a big tradition in our family to make fun of the whole thing (we even did that in 2010 when Germany won the contest - Lena's accent was as wonderfully horrible as mine is ;P).
I like Australia too. Though I'm not sure if one can vote for them as they are just attening once for this jubilee.
Mmh, all in all it wasn't that funny or spectacular this year. Too many ballads.
Last but not least, I still think Conchita's voice is amazing.

I don't really have a favourite this year. Our song is half decent, but then the woman scares all the potential voters away with the terrible headphones - honestly, what's up with that?! She looks as if she's got an extra head growing on every side of her already round face and her dress is like they pulled it off one of those old Dracula movies where the bride was buried in her old-fashioned wedding dresses. Mother of god, shoot the stylist and you'll be fine. :)But for us making it to the finals is already a success of sorts. As one tweet said: "The games have begun, let the neighbours be in your favour!"
English one was sort of Downtown Abbey and the Aussie guy could sing, but the early disco sound was not really my cookie. Definitely too many ballads. :)
We sit around the TV and just make a joke out of everyone, I guess that's a tradition in every household, I'm afraid we're not too gracious. ;)

Yeah, me neither. I'm currently giggling about us getting no points. Ah, the shame. My heart is bleeding. I'll try to dig a hole later- wait I live on the 2nd floor. ;p

Well, congrats to Sweden! The song was ok though I thought the guy was acting terribly through that animation. And Sweden is a pro at winning the title and throwing a party the next year. They won't go bankrupt over it.

BeautifulFiction is one my favorite Sherlock authors too!! Her fics are absolutely brilliant. :) I totally "whoop" - ed in joy when I got the email notification. I was waiting for the fic to get finished before I started reading it! Yay!

I feel you. It was so great to get the final chapter. I was following it's progress for month on tumblr and through the notifications. I saw so many brilliant recs and knew in advance that it would be awesome. And, OMG, it's so good! I spend every free minute yesterday and today reading. And though I've started to see a pattern the storyline still catches me by surprise. Wonderful! :D
