Interesting. I lost a beloved, old lab to cancer a few years ago. And it plagues my sister and her family (husband and inlaws). A cure in my lifetime would be awesome.
I just had to put my 14 yr old cat down a couple months ago because she had advanced diabetes. Kidneys finally shut down. I'm on a mission to tell everyone I know, not to feed your pets junk food and table scraps. Give a good dogfood that is grain-free and low carb. Just like human beings, too much of a good thing can have dire consequences.
