Summary: History of Magic has something to teach after all, and two resourceful students decide that the key to having any future at all lies in the past, and in Tom Riddle's heart. Assuming he has one.

Why I loved it:
Yes, I know, Harry and Tom. Nobody would think they are a match made in heaven BUT… this story works. It’s a wonderful, hilarious, sweet, and captivating fic and has more than just one wonderful UST dance scene.

And Tom here. Awww, he is as wonderful as Harry.
When Harry, who is 16 when the story starts, travels back in time, Tom is only 15. So he hasn’t created a Horcrux yet. When you (as the reader) meet him for the first time you are having doubts – who would not – but you try (as Harry does) to give him the benefit of the doubt. Then you start to like him (as Harry does) and after some time something wonderful happens. And you just know, he can’t be all bad and he is going to change for real because of Harry, Pansy and Minerva. So you can relax and enjoy the ride.

To show you what I mean, take a look at this wonderful little excerpt of chapter 7 ‘Care for Magical Creatures’ where the miracle is happening:

>>Harry moved forward a few steps, and one of the animals looked back at him. While their professor was telling them all about unicorns - throwing in a few facts that had been left out in first year, and for good reason - Harry reached out a hand, and one of them walked up close to him, nudging his fingertips lightly. He murmured a few soothing words to it, surprised when it suddenly grew nervous and began to fidget. Looking back over his shoulder, he saw Tom standing behind him with a surprised expression on his face.

"They let you touch them?" he asked.

"Apparently," Harry said, then did something he could not have explained if his life depended on it. He reached for Tom's wrist and pulled him closer, holding their joined hands out towards the unicorn. He wondered why Tom's pulse was racing.

The unicorn came a cautious step closer, sniffing and bowing its head, and Harry calmed it with soft words, unaware the rest of the class were watching them with gaping mouths and wide eyes. When the unicorn pushed its pale, moist snout into the palm of Tom's hand, Harry smiled and took a careful sideways glance at Tom. The only reason he managed not to burst out laughing at the boy's expression was that he didn't want to shatter the moment. It would be an exaggeration to say Tom looked as though he was about to 'gasp in awe and look like a happy little child', but he did look almost comically amazed.<<

Every time I take a short look into this fic, I want to read the whole story again. ♥

This sounds so intriguing! Thank you! I am going to check it out. This is not a ship I've read often, and I think usually in dark tones, so this will be different. :)

Hon, I'm sure you are going to love it.
How their relationship changes over time (and the UST grows) - yes, you need to read it. :D
It's a bit cheesy in the end but worse things could have happened with that pairing. ;)
