Ahhh I totally understand your woes with your fics. I have fanart that I've spent hours creating that doesn't get much attention at all, and the stuff that DOES seem to get attention is doodles I've filled for requests that I can't really stand to look at anymore. (And of course, my fanart gets WAY more attention than anything original I make, which is frustrating when you're putting more of yourself into your original art, but that's also just to be expected...) As a creator it seems unfair that you can't direct people to like what you think they should like, but that's also I think something you just have to learn to accept when you make and share things with people (not that I've accomplished that as of yet!) u_u; It's nice to say "well I shouldn't care about stats at all" but I haven't found a way to turn that logical notion into something you can implement emotionally, too!
Also good on that little boy for wanting to wear heels one day, I hope he can do that when he's a bit older (if he still wants to) without judgment or shame! But I'm with you, heels aren't for children... or even for certain grown women that can't tolerate the pain for more than 4 minutes (*cough* me *cough*)
