Long Time no See
Dear friends,
I'm very sorry for being on LJ only every once in a while. Until this afternoon I could have told you that I was following my feeds. But - *cringes in shame* - I've managed to delete my whole message board today. I was fiddling with the mobile on the playground and got distracted and the next thing I remember was pushing the okay button instead of 'get me the hell outta here'. Now it's too late and all your posts are gone from my dashboard. Well, at least the bookmarked posts are still there - thanks for small mercies.
The only unanswered and now lost message was the one by
besamislabios. Oh, now I'm even more happy about our chat last weekend, hon! It was fun and we really should do it again asap. :D
What I've been up to since my last post?
First of all, I haven't written anything at all during winter. The muse was absent, the cold made me very moody this year, and I was content to just read things. I didn't craft the gifts I still owe some people here, I didn't wrote more than a few recs, and every comment left here or elsewhere was an obstacle for me. At least I managed to talk to some of my friends and didn't abandon everyone.
The past months were really busy at work and whenever I had some free time I used it to just relax and do nothing at all. I can't see it getting any better in the future, but maybe I will be surprised. At least the job is still one I really like to do (even though our department's boss is a huge failure and not at all able to make things better).
Last week was Mr Kantorka's birthday and one of my presents for him was a dvd of this wonderful and stunning movie --> 'Searching For Sugar Man'. It's about the US-musician 'Rodriguez' who released two records in the early 1970s and when they didn't sell well went back to where he came from. What he didn't know, over the years his records became big hits in South Africa. It's a more or less true story and the Swedish director, who made the movie, won an Oscar in 2013 (documentary) for it. For someone who loves music and stories about music like I do, watching this movie is a big treat.
If you could cross your fingers for our cat this upcoming week, that'd be great. She needs to see the vet because she's vomiting all over the place (sometimes more sometimes less for one or two days). At first I thought she got a stomach bug, but it's been ongoing for too long now and I fear it's her kidneys (she's 12 years old). I've already put her on a phosphor-and-protein-reduced diet, which seems to help a bit, but we need to get her blood levels checked to see how bad it really is. Maybe it's something else, but I don't think so. And even though I don't practice anymore, I do remember how common kidney failure in older cats is.
Hope you and your loved ones are all well.
I'll try to not let another season pass before my next post. Take care!

Yours truly shares the same sad destiny of too little time or energy to keep properly in touch with everyone I still owe a reply - you being one of those sadly neglected people - so I do understand all too well. At least I've managed to write some, I don't know how I'd still be floating about if my Muse was to leave me as well. It's been a stressful season, but the summer is nearly there - we're supposed to have 28°C on Wednesday - so I'm hoping things will improve. I have nothing to complain about your correspondence to me, mind you! In fact, you've left me so many nice comments that I'm pretty sure none of your friends can mumble about feeling neglected. :)
Oh, yikes, looks like technology is not your friend, you poor thing deleting all the message board! :P I've got occasional technical problems with LJ, but that's mostly because I'm a techno-moron and way too old for this modern shit - it's the kind of things my son could probably fix with his eyes closed, LOL!
Looks like your department's boss went to the same school of incompetence with my manager *vomits a little* - sometimes it makes me wonder if there's a requirement out there in the Universe that you need to be incompetent in order to be promoted. Seriously, my last competent boss was well over a decade ago and you'd think in a population of 2 million people they'd be able to find someone who can actually lead and manage - but every time they cannot show up with worse, they surprise me and dig out another dude made of rubbish. :P
Happy belated b-day to Mr Kantorka and congratulations to you for getting him such a great present also you could enjoy - those are always the best!
Oh, jeez, poor kitty... :( Of course I'll keep my fingers crossed for her, poor thing. Well, old age is here, there's no denying it, but perhaps she's tougher than we're willing to give her credit for. I hope she only needs proper diet and she'll be all better. Hoping for the best here! :)
At least you and your child seem to have had a better season health-wise, it seems. Let's hope it stays half as good, darling! :)

Ah 28°C. Wow that quite a number for April. We had 21°C yesterday and it was sunny. First day that really felt like spring. We did a little bicycle trip with the little one and the cherry trees were blooming and on the meadow where we played tag the forget-me-nots and daises looked very lovely.
The kitty and I have an appointment at the vet's on Friday. Let's hope for the best.

Good, healing vibes for your girl. I really hope it's something completely innocuous and that she's feeling better soon! *gentle hugs to the fuzzy*
Nice to see you again! :)

Like for you winter is the most draining season and I am feeling better right now. Daylight saving has helped too. Well, the weekend it happens it's a nuisance, but afterwards I always feel better. So much light in the evenings. :D
The kitty and I have an appointment on Friday and hopefully I'll know more afterwards. Completely innocuous sounds good. :)
Hope you're doing not so bad either. I saw that it's ups and downs at the moment and wanted to comment, but it is difficult to radiate positive vibes when you're feeling down yourself. I hope the muse stays at your side and isn't fickle with giving inspiration. *hugs*

She's behaving normal and her fur looks fine, so I try not to worry too much. Sometimes it can be quite a disadvantage to know all this medical stuff and play 'what if it's ...'

Sending healing vibes to your cat, hopefully the vet can tell you what's going on, so she can get better. *pets her gently*

I have watched Rodriguez a while ago! What a great music documentary!!

Oh yes, it really is a brilliant movie. And I like his music too. It's not something to listen to every day, but the voice is soothing (no matter how sad the lyrics are). :)
