SED 5 - Music...

Yeah, when I have nothing to talk about, let's pick music (or books or fics;p) as a topic.

One of my favourite songs since 2010:

When it came out we (Mr Kantorka and I) were on our honeymoon in New Zealand. Like clockwork it was always played on the radio in the car while we drove and drove and drove - across the South Island and across the North Island. We both still think the song has a wonderful beat and even 5 years later it's able to put me in a good mood.

Some songs just carry all the memories, don't they? :) I've always got a few goldies on my CD-player, "for old times' sake", but that said - I can't really say for myself that I have one favourite song, because I'm the happy bunny type, that goes like: "Oooooh, look at that great song (insert something about death and destruction with ear-splitting sound)!" - and half an hour later I'm like "Uuuh, looky, there's another one!" (more carnage and doom) :) But I keep on discovering great new music like this, even at my age, when most of my peers are still listening to the same stuff they listened to in their 20s.

Sorry I haven't managed to respond to any of your lovely posts lately - I've been seriously busy with a fic for a fest (I got the beta-ed version back and some of my mistakes made me cry out in giggling, honestly, my poor beta was probably howling on the floor with laughter as well) and RL was disastrously intense as well (my Asperger's child threw a very public fit in the store today, for example - I really didn't need that at the end of a very loooong day) - so yeah, I'm happily waving at you from the bottom of the pile of everything that still needs doing. :)

Haha, to have one favourite song is absolutely impossible. And for me they often change with time. But, as you said, there are those songs who carry all the memories and give us many happy flashbacks. Isn't it fabulous that our brains are able to do so? :D

I like the first one. The singer has a very cool voice and there's a lot of melody. If you want to sell some metal or rap music to me, you need to give me melodies. So, well done. ;p

The second is a bit difficult without understanding a thing. Do you speak Russian? The woman's voice is lovely though. :)

Ah, hon, I feel you. My poor lovely beta had a hard time with my last two stories. You can be sure that I'll overdue/pick a wrong word in every story of mine. Do you remember the bad-taste-pics? I managed to do both, pick the wrong word from the dictonary AND overuse it. Hurray. We can be SO glad to have SUCH patient betas. *nods*

I'll post something else in a few days. And of course I tell you when the fest is posting. :D

I agree the first song is smashing, I really like this singer's voice as well, it's like my ideal male voice and also the melody is very catchy.
The second one... well, I don't speak Russian, but I speak two other Slavic languages and that's enough for me to make out what they're on about, but my sons are the real fans of it - and for some reason it stayed with me, I was mumbling it the whole day, quite annoying, actually :).
